2) The adventurous mindset - To get bigger fishes, likely you need to get out to sea, very far away from shore, and you should not be afraid to be in a location where land is not in sight. 3) Long exposure under hot sun - Not only you will get sunlight directly from the sun but also the reflection and heat from the boat’s glassy surface. The sunburn is a norm. There are little overhead shelter onboard ship, though in most charter boats have cabins in which you can find shelter from the sun, but you can’t fish from inside. If you have fair skin or more prone to sunburn or heat stroke, you may want to reconsider deep sea expenditure seriously. If you do go, whether or not you expect to be affected by these ailments, carry with you strong SPF sunblock, a hat, and take plenty of water. Charters will usually provide water for you as well.
